Yes, you can plan a day trip from Stockholm to the Finnish capital Helsinki. Just don't plan on taking the 16-hour ferry, instead use one of the 1-hour flights across the Baltic Sea to turn it into a quick hop across the sea. Helsinki is a very beautiful and interesting city and is definitely worth a visit, if only for a day or two!
I was on my way to Sweden, Stockholm from Helsinki, Finland with a cruise ship. It was horrible because it was storming and the boat was moving side to side. Otherwise I would say Tallink Silja Line is a nice cruising ship for familys with small kids or adults partying. In between it's not that great. There's not alot of fun options for teenagers.
